Memorial Day Weekend!

Thank you so much to our troops that are doing all they can so we stay safe and thank you to the many veterans who did so much to make sure we stayed the USA!!! God Bless America! I love my many friends who have been in the military, navy, army! Thank you Lopez, Van Rees, my Aunt Carol and Uncle Randy for putting your lives at risk you did  great things for our country!

As always we spend our memorial day with family! But Friday Matt and I enjoyed a date night in Ames!! We ate at Jimmy Johns my favorite place ever! Then saw Hangover 2 and it rocked and I laughed so hard I cried!
Sat we spent our day relaxing then off the Kyle and Courtney's for some grilling! Thank you for the hospitality!!!
Sunday we went to the cemetery to pay our respects to gma and gpa Stephenson, its a tradition to see who can find Leroy's flag this year I believe Tucker and Paige won!

Monday was an amazing day off I got some reading done before my sister in law got here then I took six kids to the pool for some fun!!! Got some color and maybe a little more scared of having kids hahah jk

Lazy Weekend!

Nothing like a lazy weekend and that is exactly how we used it. This weekend my brother in law came home to spend time and it was a very nice visit and very good to finally see him again since he got married. To celebrate Matt and I made tacos for dinner and I picked up some delicious cakes for Kyle's 26th birthday!!! time just keeps on flying that is for sure. Here is a pic of Kyle from his bday!

Sat we enjoyed a little trip to Carroll with a little shopping if you want to call it that and some a&w for lunch then we relaxed before heading to Leah and Jeff's 5 yr anniversary party!!! What a great night and congrats to Leah and Jeff on 5 years of marriage!

Book of the Week!

Elin Hilderbrand is amazing!!!! This is the third one of her books I'm reading and havent found one yet that I don't like!!! Since I'm done with Water for Elephants I'm pretty sure that is the one we will see this week for our weekly date night!!!! To all my readerfriends feel free to suggest me books you've read I seriously haven't found one that I dont like and am open to anything!

Graduation Day! Class of 2011!

Happy Graduation Day to Logan, Breanna, Hillarie, Danielle, & Lacee!!! These girls I have been coaching for the last four years and have seen them grow into wonderful ladies! I am so proud of you girls and feel truly blessed to have gotten to know you guys for the last 4 years and watched you grow and I hope you all conquer the world someday!

Van Winkle Wedding!!!

Matt and I are doing what we do best! Going to weddings of the many many friends we have made over the years! Nothing is more beautiful than watching two people who love each other so much vow to love each other forever! Well this is wedding 3 of the season so far and I feel we are just getting into the swing of it again!
This Saturday was my friend Kyle Van Winkle's wedding, we went to high school together my junior year and have been friends since. I never forget a person and my one thing that means a lot to me is to stay in touch no matter where you go in your lives and I try to strive at keeping up with people! So Kyle is a good example. I am truly so happy for him and the amazing woman he found Jenna is remarkable and very spunky a perfect match for Kyle! I wish them the very best in there lives together and to be a promoter for Kyle's new business go out and try KOSAMA!!!!!

Now the 2nd best part about weddings is seeing so many you havent seen in awhile and another favorite is making new ones also!!! So here are some photos from the night!

Water for Elephants!!!!

Yep thats right I picked up the book Water for Elephants because well its so popular now which means it has got to be good! Im almost done and I have to admit I am loving this book it is so good! Of course after I'm all done reading I will be heading to the theater to see this movie and probably dragging my hubby along with!! Another great read so go pick it up and enjoy!

Hello Spring!! It's about time!

Spring is here and Im pretty sure I got some color this weekend finally!!! Matthew is specifically worker on his farmers tan! hehe!!! What a great weekend but a busy one!
Friday Matthew planted corn and then we headed to Ames for some Hickory Park for my little princess Tayea's 6th birthday! She is growing up way too fast.

Sat my bestie Lindsey and I went back to our hometown to get haircuts well I got the haircut she got a trim! Yep sorry everyone I snip snipped that long hair and added layers! Then we drove like mad so we could make it to SOBO I was so excited I couldn't contain myself and I loved it and I will prob see many more times! That night Matt and I headed to another place I called home for the summer the Roe Household for Roey's graduation party! 2nd time is the charm for my ROEY!!! Love you!

To those who do read my blog if you haven't read Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin I suggest you do because trust me her books are truly amazing and this coming weekend May 6th the movie Something Borrowed comes out!!!!!

SEX and the CITY!!!!

I love love love Candace Bushnell she is the author of Sex and the City and the one who brought about the series!!! So if you loved the series you will love her books I guarantee it!!!So last year she wrote the Carrie Diaries which journeys back to Carrie's life growing up in Castlebury before she moves to New York!!! It was addicting and I'm pretty sure I finished it in two days and if i didn't have to work I would have finished it in one night!
On Tuesday she released the 2nd book in the series " Summer in the City" I read and finished it this weekend and loves it. You travel to New york City for Carrie's first summer there where she meets Miranda and Samantha! I loved the book and can't wait for her to write more!

Books!!!!

I think I went reading crazy I finished two books in one month I guess that is what happens when you get obsessed with the stories and lives of the characters! I read another one of Elin Hilderbrand's books " The Summer Affair" absolutely amazing I think you should def pick this book up and give it a read!!! It was a little hard at first for me to read because I don't understand how you cheat on your significant other but after reading it the story was extreme you may not feel the way the character does but it keeps you wondering..

Another month flies right by!

My blogging skills have gone down hill for the month of April. A tad bit to busy I suppose, I will wrap the last couple of weekends all in to one blog and then catch everyone up on the books!

*April 8th-10th Weekend by brother in law gets married to my now sister in law so Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Stephenson

April 15th-17th and the Wedding season is in full force!!!! We head off to Elk Horn/Atlantic, Iowa for our good friends Travis Olson and Nicole Petersen's Weddings! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Olson!!!!

April 22nd-24th the relaxing weekend! We went home to our "vacation home" and enjoyed some personal time! Matt did some yard work and you wouldn't believe it but the grass is coming on in at full force!! Whoot Whoot!!! We also watched movies and just enjoyed our house!

April 29th-May 1st Happy Birthday to my great nephew Beau and my sister in law Courtney! We spent the weekend celebrating Beau's Birthday and I loved going to Jen and Dan's for Addies Birthday! We also enjoyed some dinner with great friends Neal, Rachel and Family, and Lucas and Jaq!!!! Then Sunday we enjoyed lunch with Kyle and Courtney at the Machine Shed and Scotties first communion in Des Moines! I would consider this weekend a family friendly weekend! No batteries but attitudes included. :)
