12 Weeks
Baby is the size of a plum!
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces.
Now that babyhas got pretty much all it's parts, it's main job is to keep on
growing.
- Most of baby's critical systems are fully formed!
- Baby is about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which it's organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
- Baby is now developing reflexes -- if you poke it's body, it will likely move.
- Baby is opening and closing it's fingers and curling it's toes, too.
- Baby's brain is developing fast!
10 Weeks
Baby is the size of a prune!
Now, baby is about 1.2 inches long and weighs about .14 ounces. It's body length will almost double in the next three weeks.
- Baby has working arm joints, and her cartilage and bones are forming.
- Baby's vital organs are fully developed and they're starting to function.
- Baby's fingernails and hair are starting to appear, too.
- Plus, it's swallowing and kicking in there. (Can you believe it?!)
